AT ST VINCENTS
St. Vincent's
is one of Sydney’s leading health care institutions
with a long tradition in educating nurses,
doctors, allied health, and pastoral care
professionals. St Vincent's recognises
that spiritual care is an integral part
of patients' healing and well-being. It
has a dynamic pastoral care department that
responds to the spiritual care needs of
patients, their families and the staff. The
Clinical Pastoral Education Centre was es-tablished
in 1981. Since then it has conducted over
70 programs, with more than 350 gradu-ates.

ac-tion in the pastoral visit and your
theological tradition

IS THE
PROGRAM RECOGNISED?
- Employers
of Pastoral Care professionals often
advertise for CPE graduates with three
units (400 hour programs)
- The
Civil Chaplains Advisory Board recom-mends
that Chaplains have at least one unit
of CPE
WHAT ABOUT
ACADEMIC RECOGNITION?
- Bachelor
of Theology students receive 18 credit
points for a CPE unit
- MA (Chaplaincy)
2 Basic and 1 Advanced unit of CPE is
half the course work
